Back to School Tips

ORLANOD, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) — Heading back to school can be an exciting time, but also a scary one for kids. Luckily, there are ways that parents can help.

New books … new friends … new teachers … starting a new school year can leave some kids feeling anxious.

Help your child ease into school by practicing morning, nighttime, and afternoon routines about two weeks before the first day. Have kids go to bed and wake up at the time they will for school. Give them a book to read every afternoon to prepare for homework. If they’re headed to a new school, take a tour first. If possible, arrange to have your children meet their teacher. Bring the kids along when you shop for school supplies and let them help pick some out. You might also want to see if they can get together with other kids who will be in their class. A few days before school starts, talk about what they can expect the first day and set some goals for the year. Having a plan can make them feel more in control.

Wiki-buy, a price comparison site, said consumers shouldn’t limit their back to school supplies shopping to only amazon. It may seem cheaper to buy everything there, but a study they performed found that back to school supplies prices were on average 15 percent higher on amazon.
