Can Your Smartphone Keep You Healthy?

ORLANDO, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) — Want to order pizza? There’s an app for that. Need a date saturday night? There’s an app for that, too. Today there’s an app for just about everything. Now there are apps that can improve your wellness.

Eat right, exercise, and get enough sleep. You know what to do to stay healthy. But now apps make it easier to do!  First up: Healthtap: it lets you connect with over 108-thousand top doctors by sending texts or video calls. You can ask questions, list your symptoms, and get responses. But the premium membership is pricey: around 99 bucks a month. Thankfully there are free options too. Another app Headspace guides you through meditation exercises to keep you feeling zen. Healthyout lets you quickly find and order restaurant dishes and notes the healthiest items on the menu. Sleep Cycle is an app that tracks your movements in bed and wakes you during the lightest sleep phase that’s closest to your alarm clock time. Shop Well is an app that learns your dietary goals and creates a personalized profile to make sure you buy the right foods. You scan an item on your smartphone and the app will rate it based on your profile.

The total number of mobile app downloads in 2017 is expected to be 197 billion. If you’re wondering, Facebook is the most popular app.
