ORLANDO, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) — Las investigaciones muestran que debido al COVID-19, los estudiantes tienen mas posibilidades de retrasarse en matematicas, mas que en lectura. Como promedio, los alumnos estan perdiendo entre dos y cuatro meses de aprendizaje en matematicas, y estudiar durante una pandemia es aun mas dificil para aquellos alumnos que tengan algun tipo de dificultad de aprendizaje. Hoy, un estudio indica que los propios compa٣eros de clase pueden ayudar a cerrar esa brecha.

Ciencias … Ingles … Historia … En el colegio siempre hay una materia que se resiste. Pero un estudio reciente de la Universidad de Carolina del Norte determino que, para algunos alumnos, la clave para el éxito en matematicas son sus propios compañeros de clase. El programa se llama ‘peer-mediated instruction,’ o enseñando de compañero a compañero, donde estudiantes en el cuadro de honor ayudaron con las matematicas a compañeros con dificultades de aprendizaje. Los expertos determinaron que, a base de listas visuales, y leyendo los problemas matematicos en voz alta ademas de usar dibujos o fotos para ilustrarlos, los estudiantes mas avanzados pudieron ayudar a sus compañeros en una forma efectiva. Los padres deben de consultar con los profesores de sus hijos, para determinar si este programa esta activo en su escuela.

Este estudio se enfoco en mejorar la capacidad para resolver problemas entre niños con discapacidades intelectuales, pero otros estudos apoyan el merito de la ayuda compañero a compañero entre otros grupos estudiantiles.
