Contando Los Pasos Se Llega Al Exito En Matematicas

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Ivanhoe Newswire) — ¿Esta afectando la pandemia el aprendizaje de nuestros hijos? Una serie de nuevos estudios sugieren que los niños estan perdiendo terreno en matematicas mas que, en lectura, al ser mas dificil enseñar conceptos de aritmetica en forma virtual.

A sus tres años ben disfruta con sus bloques. Y su mama sabe que no solo esta jugando pero se estan sentando los cimientos para el estudio de las matematicas. Claudia Galindo, PhD, estudio a 47 madres hispanas que emigraron a estados unidos cuyos hijos estaban enrolados en preescolar. Determino que la inmensa mayoria valoraba que sus hijos adquieran un conocimento solido de las matematicas y que ellas mismas ya estaban ayudandolos en las casas.

Galindo dijo, “Conceptualizaban la matemática como algo grande, involucrado dentro de la vida cotidiana. Las madres practicaban con los chicos, las madres hablaban mucho de cuestiones matematicas.”

A traves de talleres Galindo ayudo a las madres a incorporar las matematicas en la vida diaria de una familia hispana. Por ejemplo, al ir al mercado contar el cambio o cuando estan preparando la cena contar los ingredientes.

Galindo dijo, “Cuantas gentes van a venir hoy día en la noche, cuantos platos necesitamos si van a hacer un arroz con pollo y papas. La mama puede decir si cada uno se va a comer un encuentro cuantos necesitamos para la familia.”

Los estudios tambien mostraron que a las madres hispanas les gustaba que sus hijos vieran programas educativos. Galindo explica que esto es algo positivo mientras exista una interaccion.

“Que la mama o el papa o un familiar sea parte de esa actividad y converse con los chicos, que no sea necesariamente que los chicos esten puestos frente al television,” Galindo dijo.

Y contando con mama, se construye una mente matematica.

Los expertos sugieren que los padres deben de dejar que sus hijos les vean realizar alguna actividad donde estan  usando la matemativa. Ya sea contar tapas de tupers, contar monedas o calcetines, o algo tan sencillo como contar los escalones en voz alta al subir las escaleras.
