Four Fertility Tips for Him

ORLANDO, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) -- More than four million babies will be born this year, but for 10 percent of women, having a baby is more difficult than they thought. We all know a woman’s age plays a role, her nutrition, and whether she exercises, but did you know what he does matters too?

"As soon as we went on the honeymoon, I started thinking about it, and it seemed like every baby was staring at me from that point on," Elisa Aguilar recalled to Ivanhoe.

It takes two to tango and when it comes to having a baby, that's especially true. Here are four ways to boost your man's fertility. The first … load up on veggies. New research shows men who consume the most antioxidants in their diet -- like beta-carotene and vitamin C and E -- had more sperm than those who got the least. Guys should get five to nine servings a day of dark, leafy greens and citrus fruits.

Next, quit smoking! Sperm from smokers is 75 percent less likely to fertilize an egg.

The third way to boost his fertility … put his laptop on his desk. Resting a computer on your lap can raise the temp by five degrees, which can lead to a drop in sperm count.

Another tip -- don’t give up.  Men who have sex every day for a week have healthier sperm than those who abstain, according to new reports out of an Australian study.
