Materia Extraña (Strange Matter)

LA JOLLA, Calif. Profesor de Fisica, Ivan Schuller, Ph.D., de Universidad de California en San Diego dice: "Resulta que todos estos materiales invaden el mundo entero, están en la industria de los sensores, están en la industria medica, están en todos lados y por lo tanto es una ciencia muy importante en el punto de vista básico y en el punto de vista de aplicaciones."

Este exhibición ambulante que busca explicar como estas, "materias extrañas" funcionan, esta recorriendo la nación, tratando de fomentar el entusiasmo por la ciencia y la investigación entre los más jóvenes, algo que los científicos dicen es básico, si queremos ganar la batalla tecnológica.

Profesor Schuller explica: "Por ejemplo si usted quiere saber que hubiera sido el peligro de no tener una investigación básica, empiecen por apagar las luces, empiecen en apagar su teléfono, apagar sus computadoras, no conectarse a la red, no tomar los automóviles, y saquéense la ropa y entonces se van a dar cuenta de lo que seria el peligro de no hacer la investigación básica."

Y quizás esta galardonada exhibición, donde se combina la física, la química y la ingeniería es y donde las familias al completo pueden ver, tocar y divertirse, inspirara a un premio nobel del futuro a conocer a fondo. Cuan divertida y fascinante la ciencia puede llegar a ser.
