Farms can Improve Immune System!
(Ivanhoe Newswire) – Living in a farming environment can reduce hypersensitivities and allergies, according to research from Aarhus University in Denmark.
The study found new environmental exposures found in farming environments can help stimulate the immune system and improve hypersensitivities and allergies. People who live in farming environments are generally exposed to a wider variety of bacteria, fungi, and pollen. It was previously thought that these effects can only occur in children who grow up in these environments, but the new research found the impact can be found even in adults who grew up and live in cities. The hope is that this new research can potentially point the way to preventing allergies.
