ORLANDO, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) --When you find “the one” your heart may skip a few beats. In honor of Valentine’s Day. We’ll show you dishes to help keep your sweetie’s heart beating for a very long time.
“You want flavors that say, marone a mia! There’s no love without flavor!” Isabella Morgia di Vicari told Ivanhoe.
Cupid’s arrow hit this chef’s heart twice. Isabella Morgia di Vicari is passionate about food and her husband.
“Jeffy is the love of my life,” Isabella said.
And she wants to make sure he has a long life. So she’s cooking up some romantic heart healthy Valentine’s Day dishes, that won’t break the bank!
“And when my honey saves some money and spends it on me, I’m just so happy,” Isabella said.
To keep your honey’s ticker ticking try Isabella’s poached salmon with piccata sauce. In a hot skillet, add two four ounce pieces of salmon, wine and water.
“Let it simmer and in five minutes this baby’s gonna be done,” Isabella said.
Make the creamy sauce with olive oil, shallots, fresh squeezed lemon juice.
“If I don’t drink it, I don’t cook with it, that’s my rule,” Isabella said.
Stir in some light sour cream, and spoon it on.
“And viola! You have a Valentine’s day dish that is affordable, that is beautiful, and that is very health conscious,” Isabella said.
For meat lovers try, Osso Buco with beef shank, instead of lamb.
“Very heart conscious ingredients,” Isabella said.
With wine and beef stock then. Cook it all together.
“The minute you put that first bite in your mouth, you’re going to say, life is good,” Isabella said.
The delicious dishes have Jeff’s pulse racing.
“There’s a party on that plate,” Jeff, Isabella’s husband, concluded.
Heart healthy food that might just make your date fall in love.
The third way Isabella says you can keep the heart healthy Valentine’s Day theme going all year long is by cooking with her five favorite red ingredients. She suggests adding tomatoes, pomegranate, cherries, beats and chili peppers to your favorite meals. They’re packed with antioxidants and vitamins.
