Latest Medical Breakthroughs Now Easier to Find on the Web
ORLANDO, FLA. (September 11, 2001) -- Ivanhoe Broadcast News, an 18-year veteran of health news reporting for television, announces plans to deepen its Web site by adding vertical channels on specific health topics. Topics such as arthritis, women's health, cancer and orthopedics will be added to the menu allowing visitors to quickly find the most recent report on the latest medical breakthroughs in a specific area.
Ivanhoe's Web site (found at www.ivanhoe.com) currently provides carefully researched, original reports each week on life-changing discoveries in the world of medicine. Online content includes access to corresponding background research and contact information as well as transcripts of the full interview conducted with physician experts while researching a specific story.
Each day the site is updated with additional medical news, and a search engine gives viewers the ability to keyword search thousands of health reports in Ivanhoe's archive.
"Our Web site was designed to provide people with access to the latest information on medical breakthroughs," says Ivanhoe President, Marjorie Bekaert Thomas. "We want the person who has just been diagnosed with a condition to be able to visit our Web site and find information on the newest drugs and procedures that might be available to him or her. Our new topic channels will let them find this information quickly and from a trusted resource."
Visitors will get a preview into the benefit of the new topic channels in October when Ivanhoe features a special channel on Breast Cancer. The channel launches on October 2, 2000 in observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Visitors will have access to medical breakthrough reports on breast cancer research as well as interactive features including scheduled live chats with high-profile physicians.
